Martha Stout

Martha Stout is an American psychologist and author. She earned her Ph.D. at Stony Brook University and completed her professional training in psychology at McLean Psychiatric Hospital. She served on the faculty in psychology in the department of psychiatry at Harvard Medical School for more than twenty-five years, and practiced as a clinical psychologist specializing in recovery from psychological trauma and PTSD. She is the author of The Sociopath Next Door, which won the Books for a Better Life Award for Best Book in Psychology in 2005.
