Raphael Honigstein is a German journalist and author based in London since 1993. He serves as the English football correspondent for the German newspaper Süddeutsche Zeitung and contributed to The Athletic UK until 2024, while regularly appearing on BBC Radio 5 Live's Euro Leagues show and The Totally Football Show podcast. He is the author of Das Reboot (2015), which chronicles the resurgence of German football ahead of their 2014 FIFA World Cup victory, and Klopp: Bring the Noise (2017), a definitive biography of manager Jurgen Klopp.
