Temple Grandin

Temple Grandin, Ph.D., diagnosed with autism in 1950, didn't speak until age three and a half. Her book, *Emergence: Labeled Autistic*, challenged the then-prevailing view of autism as a barrier to achievement. Despite early struggles, she became a successful livestock handling equipment designer, creating facilities for half of U.S. cattle and consulting for major companies. Dr. Grandin is currently a Professor of Animal Science at Colorado State University and speaks globally on autism and livestock handling.
